International Students

Maranatha Christian Academy has been providing quality Christ centered education for more than 25 years. As an international student you will be warmly welcomed to our school where you can expect to receive a rigorous academic program that prepares you for university or college. In our community, Maranatha has gained a solid reputation for academic excellence.

NOTE:  Any international students applying from China must register through Choice Education Group and pay their fee schedule.

Tuition

Please contact the School Admissions Office for up to date international tuition and ESL fees. All international students will be assessed by Maranatha Christian Academy to determine if ESL instruction is required.

Health Insurance: Each international student will also obtain sufficient health insurance.

English as a Second Language

An ESL teacher will provide you with English language support if this is necessary. All international students will be assessed to determine what level of ESL will be required.

Home Stays

As an international student you will stay with a host family. Our international student coordinator locates and screens these homes to ensure they are suitable for you. The host family will provide transportation to school.

Home Stay Fees: Each international student will pay $1000.00 per month directly to the host family.

Curriculum

You will receive a well-rounded curriculum including sports, music, and drama. As an international student, you can expect to become part of our vibrant school community where a real sense of “family” is present. You will have opportunities to join a variety of sports teams and participate in other school activities. Above all, you can expect to receive a Christ-centered education where the Word of God is included in all subjects.

Sports

If you decide to join a sports team you will compete with other high schools in the Windsor area, and have opportunity to compete in Ontario wide meets as well. You can choose to join a variety of sports including basketball, volleyball, track and field, swimming, badminton, soccer, and cross country. Our graduates have received athletic scholarships at various universities.

Cross Cultural Mission Trip

In addition, our grade 12 students participate in a cross cultural mission trip experience each year. During this 10 day trip they learn about the needs of the world and have an opportunity to spread God’s love in both word and deed. Our students have gone to the Bahamas, Ecuador, Hong Kong, and Nicaragua.

Our Graduates

Our graduates receive many academic scholarships from various universities in both Canada and the United States. Once they enter university they continue to excel. Several Maranatha graduates have earned the highest academic standing awards at the University of Windsor in several faculties.

Our graduates successfully attend many different post secondary institutions including the following: University of Windsor, Wayne State University in Detroit Michigan; various Christian universities including Calvin College in Grand Rapids Michigan, and Redeemer University College in Ancaster Ontario; and other universities in Ontario. Our graduates can be found in graduate schools in such prestigious areas as medical schools, and attending Oxford University in England.
