Guatemala 2019 Trip Overview

Trip Overview

Dear High School Families,

Every year our grade 12 students have had the opportunity to serve on a mission’s trip. This year, we will be returning to El Tizate, Guatemala with Global Shores Opportunities (GSO). We visited their school in 2017 and partnered with a local church to run an after school VBS program. We are excited to step out in faith and see God work through us in the lives of the children and families in Guatemala, but also to learn more about God’s work in our own lives as we depend on Him.

This year our team consists of 19 students and 5 chaperones. Many of the students have already seen God provide physical needs, some timing needs and various financial needs as well. Some members of the team continue to ask God to provide for outstanding financial needs, including some extra visa costs that a couple of students will face. With travel and accommodation details falling into place, we are getting excited and the trip feels more real. However, there are still many details to work through before we leave on January 22nd, 2019.

I want to invite you as members of our MCA family to join us in praying for the details that still need to fall into place.

Ministry details – now that flights are booked, GSO is working out the details for our time there.
Health and safety for the team as we prepare and as we travel.
Outstanding financial needs, including the additional visa costs for some students.
Semester One exams which will fall right before we leave on January 17-21, 2019.
That our relationship with God would grow stronger and deeper as we see Him work and that God would use each of us to impact people for Him in Guatemala.

If you would like to know more about the trip or about supporting the team, please speak to a member of the grade 12 class or contact me through the school office.

Thank you for your prayers and support!
