Guatemala 2017

Guatemala 2017

Each year Maranatha Christian Academy sends our grade 12 students on a missions trip to a third world country. Our hope is to provide the students with the opportunity to experience ministry in a different cultural setting and to broaden their understanding of what it means to depend on God in every area of life. This year our team will be serving in Guatemala with a Canadian organization called Global Shores Opportunities. We will help with English instruction in the Christian school they founded there, work in construction, visit families in the community and help with a VBS through the local church.

One of the amazing parts of the trip is seeing how faithful God is in answering our prayers and providing for our needs. It reminds us that we do not go on this trip alone because so many support and pray for us. Although we are traveling as a team from Maranatha Christian Academy, we are also representing our families, friends and churches. Below, Pastor David Chotka from Heritage Park Alliance Church, prays for the MCA students and chaperones from their congregation, one of several churches represented on the MCA Guatemala team.

Please continue to pray for the students as they write exams this week between Monday and Wednesday.
Pray also for safety and health during the trip.
