Travel Day Update

We have arrived!

We have arrived! Though it was tiring after 16+ hours of travel, there is a collective feeling of gladness, as we made it here safely. For some of us it was our first time flying, and with that, came many different emotions. But after liftoff, these fears, especially for Olivia, dissipated.

“I was pretty scared to board a plane for the first time, but after the initial liftoff, I realized that it wasn’t so bad, and I’m happy to already have new experiences on the first day,” she said.

Praise report: During our entrance of Guatemala City, Matthew lost his carry-on bag. There were moments of stress but after talking to staff of the airport, the carry-on was found in the luggage carousel area. Though there were some small issues, everything got resolved in the end.

Through our luggage we were able to bring vitamins and wifi technology for the school. We hope this will provide a big help to the school that we are working with. We appreciate the donations from the many families who supported us as well as our classmates.

A lot of the students are still adjusting to the new cultural norms and environment. One interesting thing that the students liked was the vehicles that are decked out with colourful lights, as it is common here.

Please keep us in your prayers.
