Day 1 of our Grade 12 trip: Yesterday was a travel day, We arrived at our Casa late at night. It was around 11:30 p.m.  

Today, we woke up bright and early at a whopping 6:00 in the morning to eat breakfast. After breakfast we hiked up a mountain to get to the school where we will be helping out for our trip. The first thing that happened when we got there was worship. Everyone was super excited but hesitant to participate with the kids, until the pastor had the kids to welcome us with BIG hugs. The kids were happy that we were there. 

After worship we got a history lesson about Global Shores and how the pastor became the pastor. After this we proceeded to help in construction or painting. We dug trenches for the base of a new room for a family in need, There is still a lot more work to do. We also painted a wall.  

We really enjoyed our first day here in Guatemala, Looking for lots more fun to come.
