Worship and Witness
Today was the eighth day of the trip and it was the team’s last day helping at the school. Most of us helped with some English classes, while others helped with tech and painting. We were able to finish all the projects including painting of the teacher’s office building and setting up the wifi for the whole school.
The tech team went on a home visit in the afternoon and provided a sponsored child’s family with some supplies they needed. There was also a birthday party for the sponsor child. The team led some games and together we shared a snack. In the afternoon we helped with the last day of the VBS and closed it off with a play for the kids.
During the play, we acted out superheroes trying to fight sin. No matter how hard we tried, even as superheroes, we always failed. Until the child called on the name of Jesus and Jesus came and saved him from sin! During the week, there was a craft team that made masks for all the children. We handed out those masks today on the last day of VBS. It was exciting to see more children attending todays VBS than yesterday.
The worship around the school was extra vibrant and passionate today for our last day at CCAF. There were a lot of emotional moments during worship, especially having to say goodbye to children we have made friends with over the week. As we shared at the campfire, called a Chimbale, many students commented about the worship. Each of us felt the Holy Spirit surrounding us during our worship sessions and times of prayer with the CCAF students and teachers. It was an emotional time this morning during devotions when the high school students laid their hands on us as a team. They prayed over our team and spoke into our lives individually and left all of us with the fire of the Holy Spirit. We are looking forward to tomorrow and another chance to experience culture and do some shopping and other fun activities to end off the trip. Please keep us in your prayers as we pack up and head home.
