High School May 14-18, 2018

We all need several people to speak into our lives to encourage us in our walk of faith, not only parents and teachers, but also fellow students.  In this morning’s chapel our grade 12 student, Sara Dakin, spoke with conviction about how to work for change in our world.   Proverbs 3:27 (NIV)  “Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in your power to act” or in The Message, “Never walk away from someone who deserves help; your hand is God’s hand for that person”.  She encouraged us to work for change in whatever area we have a passion for.  Two of our Grade 12 students will spend this summer volunteering with The Canadian Centre for Bio-Ethical Reform working on the pro-life front.

Our team had outstanding track and field results at WECSSAA this week!

Vanessa Brouwer, 5th in 200m Midget girls race.

Hanna Schroeder 1st 300m hurdles, and 7th in 200 m Junior girls race.

Jake Matte 2nd in 300m hurdles, and 6th in 800m Midget boys race

Chariese Vriesema  5th with a triple jump of 9.59m

Mike Vriesema won the senior boys high jump with a best jump of 1m 79 cm.

Isaac Glos 2nd in shot put.

All 6 of these athletes will move on to SWOSSAA.

Congratulations also for seasonal best results to Stephen Xavier, Lauren Driedger and Paige Lofthouse, and the Junior girls 4 x 100 relay who narrowly missed SWOSSAA by 2 hundredths of a second, finishing 9th!  A big thank you to coach Mr. Robson and Mr. Kuikman.

The stage is set, rehearsals are in high gear, and we can’t wait to have you watch our excellent drama production.  “It Happens Every Summer”, a romantic comedy, will be performed next week Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.  Don’t miss it!  Get your tickets in the school office: $10 adults, $5 Seniors and Child.
